Our History

Autism Life Skills, LLC was founded by Dr. Elaine Aguirre. She pursued a career in the field of autism because she has a son with autism.

Given a very bleak prognosis when her son was just two years old, Dr. Aguirre grieved for several months until through research she found that all hope was not lost. She began on a mission/life journey to research all the possible avenues to help her son. Through much effort, passion and commitment, as well as, set-backs and tears, she was able to help her son reach his highest potential. Dr. Aguirre’s son went from being a non-verbal child with many sensory issues, no social skills, and deficient in all areas of development to most recently becoming a college graduate in May 2020.

Dr. Elaine Aguirre’s goal is to make a difference in the lives of youth* and young adults * with mild autism by sharing her story/journey, information/resources, as well as, providing support, training and coaching. Based on her own personal experience, Dr. Aguirre strongly believes that collaboration between parents, caregivers, educators, and others in the field of autism, is key to optimizing the opportunities for our youth* and young adults* with mild autism as they transition to adult living.

This is our journey…

*youth and young adults (ages 13 to 30).
